With Grand County’s Lodgepole pines hit hard by the beetle-kill epidemic, The clients of this contemporary-style home were fortunate to have found one of the only tree lots left in their neighborhood. The trees were desirable on a lot lacking significant views of mountains, so the design of the home responded with more engagement to the surrounding property. A contemporary look is captured by reclaimed red barn siding, in contrast to locally milled beetle-kill pine on the rest of the home, as well as simple roof lines and large glass. A state-of-the-art kitchen designed by New Mountain Design enhances the interior. The home was built by Millworks Construction Services.
