East Grand Fire District officials decided it was time to renovate the firehouse’s dated 1980s interior. More natural light in spaces, use of locally milled beetle-kill pine, revamped offices, modernized mechanical systems and station circulation, more organized storage and a new kitchen and conference room have escorted the firehouse into a new era. A large window now invites young members of the public to see the big red fire trucks. And when Architect Scott Munn found a box of badges swapped by firefighters from stations throughout the U.S., he came up with a way to display them to the public. The result is interesting wall art adorning the meeting room, holding profound meaning to firehouse residents. Construction by MW Golden Contractors.
